AI floor plan to DXF
From an AI floor plan to a DXF you can edit.
Roommie generates a floor plan from a text brief and exports it as a DXF file. The DXF holds real geometry on editable layers, so it opens in AutoCAD, FreeCAD and LibreCAD and you can keep drawing by hand.
Try it freeWhy DXF matters
An image of a plan is a dead end. You cannot measure it, snap to it or change a wall. DXF is the common exchange format for 2D CAD, so a DXF plan drops into the tool you already use.
What is in the file
The export is drawn at real size in metric units.
- Walls, doors and windows
- Room names and areas
- Furniture
- Dimensions
- Layers you can turn on and off
Other exports
SVG gives you clean vector sheets for print and presentations. GLB gives you the 3D model for viewers, game engines and AR. All three are free on every plan.
A typical workflow
Brief the room in chat. Refine the draft in chat until the layout is right. Export DXF. Finish the detail in your CAD tool.
Questions
Does the DXF open in AutoCAD?
Yes. It also opens in FreeCAD and LibreCAD, which are free.
Is DXF export a paid feature?
No. DXF, SVG and GLB exports are included on the free plan. Plans differ by how many new plans you can make each month.
Can I get DWG?
Roommie exports DXF. AutoCAD and most CAD tools open DXF and can save it as DWG.
