Guide
Are AI floor plans construction-ready?
No. An AI floor plan is a schematic draft. It is useful for testing layouts and briefing a professional, but it is not a construction document. A licensed architect or engineer must review and sign anything that is built or permitted.
Try it freeWhat a good AI plan can check
Geometry. In Roommie a validator checks that walls close, doors and windows sit on walls, rooms and furniture do not overlap, every room can be reached and walkways keep a 900 mm clearance.
What it does not check
It does not check structure, fire safety, building code, or final electrical and plumbing design. These depend on your building and on local rules.
Where AI plans help
They make the early stage fast.
- Compare several layouts in an hour
- Arrive at your architect with a clear brief
- Get a measured DXF as a starting point
The safe way to use one
Treat the plan as a proposal. Check every dimension on site. Then hand it to a licensed professional for review.
Questions
Can I get a building permit with an AI floor plan?
Not on its own. Permit drawings must meet local rules and are normally prepared or signed by a licensed professional. Ask your local authority what it requires.
How accurate are AI floor plans?
The geometry is exact to what was drafted, but it is only as right as the brief. Always measure the real space.
